PipingJim Pat's playing (and singing) are great in their own right - but my goodness the audio work in recording/mastering this album! I can't think of any other time I've *felt* a pipe recording so much. In headphones or loud speakers, this one deserves to be played, "up to 11".

about

Traditional Irish music played on the uilleann pipes, tin whistle, low whistle and a dose of a song for safe measure! I went to great lengths to ensure that the sound reproduced was as the pipes sound to me when I play them in a perfect setting. I am delighted to say that Bryan Dobbs did a great job achieving that. It's as authentic a reproduction as I could have wished for. I hope you enjoy the tunes!

Bio:

Patrick D'Arcy hails from Dublin, Ireland and has spent most of his musical life plying his craft in the US.

Patrick tours regularly both in the US and internationally. Currently with The Nashville Celts.

For 11 years he has had the privilege to tour extensively from The Waterfront in Belfast to The Grand 'Ol Opry in Nashville with modern hymn writers Keith & Kristyn Getty.

Patrick has appeared on numerous recordings over the years in all genres of music and has written music for TV. He has played for some familiar figures including Bono (U2), The Kennedy and Shriver Families, Quincy Jones, Daniel Lanois, Oprah Winfrey and David Foster.

As well as recording and performing with bands and producers in Nashville and Los Angeles, he also participates in online recording sessions with artists all around the world. He enjoys teaching the Uilleann pipes at tionóil (gatherings) around the country and now via online methods, to a world wide student body.

In the early days of playing the Uilleann pipes he would venture to County Clare where he got a firm footing by attending the legendary "Willie Clancy Summer School" in Milltown Malbay, named after one of Irelands most influential pipers.

He is a founding member of the Southern California Uilleann Pipers Club and creator of UilleannObsession.com

Patrick plays two main instruments, one in concert pitch by Koehler & Quinn and the other a "flat set" in B by Geoff Wooff.

Thank You to my wife Joy and daughter Tierna for their constant support. All my family in Ireland, I love and miss you loads!

To the members of the Southern California Uilleann Pipers Club. To David Quinn, Benedict Koehler and Geoff Wooff for two sets of pipes I am very proud to play.

To Bryan Dobb’s for all the studio work and for introducing me to Rigo’s Taco’s.

I would also like to thank all the pipers that have made recordings and also those that have sent me recordings over the years. It’s a great spark to help keep the fire going and I appreciate it very much.
